Charity Flight Across the USA to Benefit Children’s Miracle Network (CMN)

Doug Stone, CRS, GRI, a RE/MAX Real Estate Agent at RE/MAX First Choice in Westboro, Massachusetts flew an estimated 7,000 miles round-trip across the United States to help raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network. He began his flight in June 1996 in his restored 1948 single-engine Piper Cub Special that his father restored 10 years ago. He returned to Massachusetts in August 1996.

All funds raised by Doug’s flight went to Children’s Miracle Network which helps provide state-of-the-art care to the millions of children born with birth defects, genetic diseases, and mental retardation. The local Children’s Miracle Network affiliate at the time was The Genesis Fundwhose funding enabled local New England hospitals to help these children and their families.

Doug received the 1996 Patriot Funding Community Leadership Award after he flew his single engine Piper Cub Special across the USA to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network. Doug was selected from 1,454 RE/MAX agents throughout New England for this award!
